Unison Comfort Technologies Opens a New Manufacturing Facility at McClellan Park

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sacramento, CA – Unison Comfort Technologies will be relocating into a new 105,000 square foot facility at McClellan Park.

Unison Comfort Technologies signed a lease earlier this year with McClellan Business Park for 105,000 square feet of industrial space, with plans for occupancy in fall 2014.

Unison™ is undertaking a major facilities expansion program to provide additional manufacturing capacity to support rapid business growth. The new plant will provide expanded production capacity for commercial HVAC units with the Innovent and Valent brands.

This new facility will improve Unison’s West Coast manufacturing efficiency in several ways. The expanded floor space alleviates crowding in production bays at the current facility in Rocklin, CA. Greater crane capacity enables the new factory to build larger custom air handling units.

The company expects to employ approximately 100 people at the McClellan facility. The new facility is located at 3034 Peacekeeper Way in McClellan, Ca. 95652. The industrial building’s former use was as aircraft maintenance facility by the Air Force.

“This new facility will provide Unison customers in California and the western US with highly-competitive quality, value, lead-times, and freight costs. And we will leverage the military aviation heritage and architecture to further enhance the impact of plant visits by reps and their customers,” said Jay Althof, President, Unison Comfort Technologies.

“The success in attracting this leading HVAC manufacturer is evidence of the strength and support of the public-private partnership between the County of Sacramento and McClellan Business Park,” said Ken Giannotti, Senior Vice President of McClellan Business Park. “The County’s economic development and building department teams have been instrumental in assuring that we meet Unison’s occupancy goals.”

Sacramento County economic development director, Troy Givans noted that “Unison will bring approximately 100 new jobs to the Sacramento region and that McClellan Park and Sacramento County competed successfully for this business with neighboring states.”

County Supervisor Phil Serna whose district is home to McClellan Business Park added “Unison’s intentions are yet another example of Sacramento County’s collaborative approach working with industry and property owners to promote quality job growth in our community.”

The Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization, Sacramento Municipal Utility District, and the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development also assisted in securing Unison’s business at McClellan Park. Unison was represented in this McClellan Park transaction by Todd Sanfilippo, Senior Vice President of CBRE Inc.
