McClellan Business Park Completes 1st in the Nation Privatized Cleanup, Redevelopment at Military Superfund Site in Sacramento

Details to be announced during press conference this Friday

SAN FRANCISCO -- On Friday, September 30th Congresswoman Doris Matsui will be joined by senior officials from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Air Force, McClellan Business Park and other state, local and private sector officials to announce details of the nation’s first ever completed privatized Superfund cleanup. The federal government will also be announcing an exciting new agreement between the Air Force and EPA to conduct greener cleanups at military installations throughout the Pacific Southwest.

WHO: Matsui, Congressional Representative for California’s 5th District, will be on hand to mark the nation’s first successful privatized cleanup of a Superfund site. She will be joined by the Air Force Deputy Assistant Secretary Timothy K. Bridges, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Superfund Director Jane Diamond, Sacramento County Supervisor Phil Serna and senior officials from McClellan Business Park. The press event will be held on September 30, at 10:00 a.m., at the Superfund site.
