PRESS RELEASE: September 27, 2011 SAN FRANCISCO -- On Friday, September 30th Congresswoman Doris Matsui will be joined by senior officials from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Air Force, McClellan Business Park and other state, local and private sector officials to announce details of the nation’s first ever completed privatized Superfund cleanup. The federal government will also be announcing an exciting new agreement between the Air Force and EPA to conduct greener cleanups at military installations throughout the Pacific Southwest.
The Camellia Lanes Bowling Alley at McClellan is being revamped and will soon be the new home of two Gateway Community Charters schools, offering innovative educational programs in the charter school construct, to meet the needs of our local communities. The six-lane bowling alley was created inside a single-story WWII utility building, then was expanded in 1970, and refurbished in 1983, to where it became a 20-lane facility with a bar and grill, and computerized scoring.
Featuring more than 140 exhibitors, ranging from corporations to government departments to sole operators, the McClellan Business Expo gives the busy small business owner a chance to see and experience the wide range of services and products available to them all in one place, with one visit. Sectors represented include construction, manufacturing, government, education, professional services, telecommunications, marketing, technology, leasing and finance. A range of interactive events and activities will also be on offer.
Solar Power, Inc. (OTCBB: SOPW) announced today that it has selected McClellan Business Park as the site for its U.S. manufacturing facility, subject to finalization of building agreements. As announced on March 9th, the Company has received an initial commitment of $24.7 million in Recovery Zone Facility Bonds ("RZFB") from Sacramento County and plans to use the proceeds from the sale of these bonds to help finance renovation and outfitting of the manufacturing facility to build its high-performance solar panels.
Blue Diamond Growers, the world’s largest tree nut processing and marketing company, has committed to a long term 80,000 square foot lease at McClellan Park. With its headquarters located in downtown Sacramento, the new facility will be a cold storage facility for Blue Diamond Growers. Blue Diamond Growers anticipates moving into the 80,000 square foot warehouse space in June 2010.
The Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization (SACTO), the County of Sacramento, and McClellan Business Park jointly announced today that N Solar Inc., a newly incorporated U.S. company that is a subsidiary of Millinet, an IT equipment manufacturer, business services provider, and solar cell manufacturer based in Seoul, Korea, has chosen the County of Sacramento for its first North American facility.
