The Lion Electric Co. Opens Facility at McClellan Park

ParkMcCLELLAN, CALIF., (January 28, 2020) - The Lion Electric Co. (Lion) opened its McClellan Park location in December 2019.  The 18,000 square-foot space is located in Building 700 at 4522 Parker Avenue, McClellan CA 95652.

Lion designs, engineers and manufactures all-electric trucks, buses and minibuses across various transit markets. The fully-dedicated heavy-duty electric vehicle company was founded in 2008 and has delivered over 200 electric school buses in the United States, and California has received the vast majority of those zero-emission school buses.

The location features yard storage for the company’s electric buses and service bays with electric charging stations and parts inventory for its customers.

“We are extremely proud to expand our operations at McClellan Park, who provided us tremendous support,” said Marc-Andre Page, Vice President, Commercial Operations of The Lion Electric, Co. “Our new McClellan location allows us to pursue the growth of our business in California, expand our Experience Center and it is the perfect location for our staff and customers.”

The company recently delivered five additional zero-emission school buses to Twin Rivers Unified School District in Sacramento, for a total of eighteen Lion buses, as part of the California Energy Commission’s School Bus Replacement Program. This effort gave the district the largest electric school bus fleet in the country.

“Having Lion Electric as a tenant further cements McClellan Park as an industrial hub for the Sacramento region,” said Ken Giannotti, McClellan Park’s Senior VP of Leasing & Marketing. “We’re thrilled that this innovative company has seen potential for growth and opportunity at our business campus.”

The addition of Lion Electric marks a growing list of green technology companies that have selected to do business in McClellan Park. Current tenants include solar panel manufacturer Sunergy America, electronics recycler Newlife Electronics, EV/HEV battery lab Battery M.D., and diesel filter manufacturer Diesel Emissions Service.

Jay Richter of Kidder Matthews Commercial advised Lion Electric in this transaction. McClellan Park’s John Knauer led ownership’s lease process.

McClellan Park is located less than 15 minutes from Downtown Sacramento and the Sacramento International Airport. Learn more about the business campus by visiting www.mcclellanpark.com.
